I have spent several hours drawing a dragon and I drew in the background and looked at it and went, "This doesn't look good in pencil." Then I inked the background in and went "there's still something missing." I went digging through my art supplies and found some artists charcoal (basically it is a pencil with a charcoal core) and went "maybe this would work." It did work well, but there was one problem. Charcoal is extremely messy. That is what I learned today. Like all of my other artwork, I go through a process of trial and error, but I made my back ground work! YAY ME! I finished and went to scan my beautiful new picture and then realized that my fingers are covered in charcoal. So I had to spend several minutes scrubbing the charcoal off my fingers. that stuff just doesn't like to come off. I still have remnants of the stuff on my finger tips, but i am not leaving finger prints everywhere, so I got my fingers clean enough.
[link]There it is! I already got some views, a favorite, and a comment! I feel good about myself! It's been awhile since someone has looked at my art and immediately commented. Most people stare at it and walk off. So I get to do my happy dance!!! Which those of you who know me in person knows it involves a lot of caffeine and mentally scarring results.
